Our commitment to excellence drives us to integrate CXL into our comprehensive eye care services, empowering patients to face the future with newfound confidence and clarity.
Keratoconus is a progressive eye disease where the normally round cornea thins and bulges into a cone-like shape. This distorts vision and can lead to severe astigmatism.
C3R uses riboflavin (vitamin B2) eye drops and ultraviolet (UV) light to strengthen the collagen fibers in the cornea. This "cross-linking" process hardens the cornea, stopping it from bulging further.
The primary goal of C3R is to stop the progression of the disease, not necessarily to reverse it. However, many patients do experience some improvement in vision or find that their contact lenses fit better after treatment.
